Jin Shin – Holding your Fingers

Gently wrap one hand around your other hands’ thumb and each finger individually and then hold the palm of the other hand.  Hold each finger, thumb, and palm for at least 2 minutes apiece or longer.  You can choose which hand you want to hold or do both. (See hand images below)

The fingers and palm have energy connections to our mind, body and spirit.  Alternatively, you can do both exercises together as well… the 36 Breaths while holding your fingers.  While you hold each finger/position, do 6 complete breaths and then move to next finger/position and repeat.

Building bridges, not walls

Who am I? What am I feeling? What do I need?

Do you know? These are questions that go beyond any ego, addictive or habitual needs. Ask more deeply. Take time to listen. Anytime throughout your day, when you awake or before you fall asleep, ask these questions.

When you react to a situation, you are not relating to the actual feeling, you are letting those feelings run the show (road rage is one example). You are no longer in charge. You bypass the conscious brain and react via autopilot fueled by the false beliefs you created when you were young.

Or perhaps you’ve locked away your feelings and use distractions to endlessly distract yourself. Anything can work – food, drugs, shopping, television – there is a plethora to choose from. This too is a way of not actually feeling what is going on within yourself.

Before reacting to someone or a situation, pause, take a few nice deep breaths and ask “What am I feeling? What do I need?” Listen, then respond with awareness. Feelings can only evolve if they are being felt. And the, with practice you will begin to open the door to the deeper places within yourself that long to be heard.

Ask the questions, then build the bridges.

Necessary Loss

Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.
~Albert Einstein~

Life is full of necessary loss – the loss of a job, a loved one, an item of significance, agility or grace – it can be many things, but whenever there is a sense of loss there is some degree of grief. Something that was a part of you is now gone.

The process of grief has many twists and turns and is not a linear process, but there are several stages that one must travel through in order to fully embrace, release and move on from the loss.

The stages are commonly understood to be shock or disbelief, denial, anger, bargaining, guilt, depression, acceptance and hope.

The key is to keep the movement – keep riding the bicycle. Allow your feelings to be expressed, allow the natural process of grieving to occur and trust that the emptiness within will absolutely be filled. There is no hurry to fill the void; it will happen naturally.

In dealing with my most recent loss, I diffused a blend of essential oils, turned on music with a strong earthy beat and cleaned house, pausing to cry as I went along. It was very nurturing and healing and exactly what I needed at that moment.

The one constant in life is change. Life is not stagnant. If you get stuck or attempt to stop by resisting what is, are you not then in the process of losing your balance, falling over and, by default, in the process of decay as you lay there?

Don’t wither away by default – find a way up and get the help you need. The world needs you.

On healing…

We say that someone is healthy when he/she is in a good relationship with life: bodily, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. The world “whole” can be used in a similar way, meaning that the person has a full relationship with life. My sense of illness is that in some way the person has become separated from life. If I think about what we normally refer to as illness, each form involves some kind of withdrawal from a full relationship to life: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. In that sense illness involves any kind of separation, including feelings like distrust, alienation, prejudice, judgment and any other espousal of separation. … In my experience all forms of healing involve joining with life and ending thoughts and expressions of separation … This awakening is the end of separation. All of life is cooperating to bring us into eternal Being. In that sense we are all prodigal sons being welcomed home. ~Jack Blackburn~

Is it time to rethink your definition of healing?

Too often people equate healing with having someone fix the issue or make it go away, releasing all personal responsibility. It really doesn’t work that way – not over the long haul.

What if healing simply meant that there was a glitch, a snag, a kink, an outdated false belief snagged in there somewhere in one of the physical, subtle or energetic systems? What if it was simply time to update your subconscious programming? Time to let go, allow the flow and come back into balance?

That there was nothing intrinsically wrong with you – just a little blip along the way. A lack of connection or a lack of smooth flowing energy somewhere. An entanglement perhaps.

Perhaps you could adjust it yourself …. Perhaps you require the assistance and support of someone else … either way you do what you need to do to support your well-being.

Perhaps through reconnecting with yourself from a place of clean power, and then with all of life, systems could come back into their natural state of balance where healing can occur and wellness is the normal state of being.

What about that? Would you be interested? Is it time to move into your next level of joy, balance and well-being? What is one step you could take right now in that direction?

Universal Points of Balance

emf balancing techniqueThis 8 minute video is a beautiful representation of how our intentions work throughout our system.

Universal Points of Balance Video

This is usually viewed after you’ve created your Focus Map (also called Statement of Focused Intent) to explain the process visually, but even without doing that process, this is valuable, for we all have intentions. The question is – how clearly are they defined and in what ways are we nourishing them?

I offer the Focus Map instruction with the Phase XIII session here as a downloadable package, but you can also create a Map (Statement of Focused Intent = SOFI) on the Symbol website for free (this does not include the Phase XIII session). They will either email you your SOFI or you can create your Map on your own paper as you go.

Any way you go, powerful stuff and beautiful visuals! Enjoy!

Towards Joy and Love

This funny, insightful and important 20 minute talk is well worth your time. Have you realized that numbing is not a selective process – that if you numb down your pain you also numb down your joy, creating a cycle that flatlines your life? How depressing is that?!?!?! To break the cycle…well, I’ll let you watch and see. And in all honesty, I am so very grateful to be working with my passion, which is helping people to live a fully alive life. Enjoy!

How do you smell?

Ok, I’m not really asking how YOU smell to others but how do you personally take in the scents of the world? The forests, the oceans, the restaurants, the earth, the chemicals, the garbage.

Some of scent-ual things you may want to completely inhale, absorb and infuse into every cell in your body. And others, well, you’d rather not breathe it in at all.

Can you do that? Yes, of course – to a degree anyway.

Scents that delight you and nourish your well-being are abundant. They are often found in or arise from nature – trees, flowers, water, earth, home baked bread … the list is endless. With these, slowly inhale through your nose deeply filling your belly then your chest. Feel the nurturing life force enter your system and feel, sense, think about, imagine or intend for the energy of that scent-ual experience to fill your whole being and expand out beyond your physical body into your energy fields all around you. And exhale gratitude for the joy of being alive and the ability to enjoy this luscious experience. Do this a few more times deepening and slowing the process, allowing yourself to bask in the juiciness of this sensory experience.

And then there are those other scents; Continue reading

Full to Overflowing or an Empty Barrel of Apples?

Which are you? Are you able to maintain your fullness and presence with yourself and others? Or are you feeling … you know, the other one?

As we come to realize that an empty barrel has no more apples to give, hopefully we also come to understand the real necessity for self care.

There are many ways to do this and you probably have your favorites. What is important is that you remember to keep yourself full to overflowing, so that you can offer the best that you have to give.

Suzanne Scurlock-Durana, in her book Full Body Presence, offers these 5 principles for creating or maintaining your full body presence:

  1. 1.  Trust the existence of nurturing life energy. Trusting that there is an unlimited source of nourishing, life-giving energy in the Universe allows you to recognize that you are loved and supported throughout your life, and allows you to live from trust rather than from fear.
  2. Feel the presence of this life energy in your body. Feeling your internal connection to this life energy as a natural state of being opens your awareness to discover a sense of belonging, reclaim your inner wisdom, and experience vitality and joy.
  3. Integrate this energy throughout your entire system. Integrating a felt sense of this nurturing energy throughout your entire body helps you establish a full personal container with strong, flexible, healthy boundaries.
  4. Expand your perceptual lens. Expanding your perceptual lens enables you to see clearly, release expectations and limiting beliefs, and open fully to life.
  5. Choose nourishing resources moment to moment. Choosing moment to moment to connect to healthy resources requires commitment, courage and kindness, and provides you with a steady foundation and a deep sense of inner peace.

Integrate ways into your daytime routines to keep yourself full. Not only will your life be that much better, but it will ripple out to others as well. And it will ripple out from them to others. And from them. And from them…

Jin Shin – Lung Meridian

Let us continue to look at a series of easy self care, quick release techniques to help you feel better. The body can regenerate and restore when the energy is flowing. With Jin Shin, we work with the acupressure points on the body using light touch to release stress and tension.

Remember that you can work on yourself or use these points to work on a client. For Quantum Touch students/practitioners, holding these points while doing QT really pumps up the effectiveness. These are quick release points not full flows that a practitioner would likely use.

The function of the Lung Meridian is to create structure for communication of our instincts and inner workings of our mind in developing ideas, writing and speaking. It helps to generate evolution and change.

Do you notice any of these tendencies in yourself? Allergies, arm and posterior side of elbows ache, chest congestion, grief, hair in poor condition, shoulders and back chilly, little common sense, can’t be direct, hates to let go, negative attitude. Continue reading
