There’s something so pure about learning with and through nature. Our particular “stories” of why we do what we do have no significance in this setting. Our false fronts of “I’m not scared” simply don’t hold up. All that matters is where you are at this moment – right here, right now.

I had the pleasure of spending time with Kim, of Windwalker Ranch. We had a delightful and stimulating conversation about leadership, herd behavior and mentality, Maslow’s  Theory, our society, boundaries and things we get stuck in. The beauty of working with the horses is that your particular story of why you are like you are doesn’t matter – what matters is the here and now, this moment. Here you are – now what is your intention? What is your role in the world right now? It forces you to be present to what is.

I love that! It’s a very juicy way to live. Her teaching style is based on Maslow’s Theory of Motivation beautifully blended with her innate understanding of horses creating an opportunity to learn an organic way of becoming a leader of your life, whether you are an autistic child or an adult with boundary issues. Such a beautiful way to get to the heart of the matter.

We are who we are as a result of our journey to this point. We’ve created our lives and our belief systems based on our experience. For that we have a lot to be grateful for. And we have the opportunity to choose to continue on the same path or to grow into more of who we truly are.

Summary of EMF Balancing Technique Phases I-XIII

Electromagnetic Field Balancing sessions (called Phases) helps you to understand and learn to manage your personal energy.

It offers a gentle way to clear old patterns from the system directly and efficiently. When painful memories, for example, are stuck anywhere in the system, the energy charge they hold tends to produce repetitive fear-based behaviors due to the past trauma and this, of course, holds you back and creates excess stress (emotional, mental or physical). When the energy is released, you are “free” to make new, supportive choices and find new levels of energy within yourself. Your decisions will then be based on the wisdom of both the mind and the heart, in balance. (Phases I & II)

As you step into your own power and wisdom and learn to trust your intuition even more, you are able to move further outside the box of your rational mind and into the world of possibilities. It allows you to see beyond what is and into the realm of what can be. This is the birthplace of creative thought and driving force behind creative action. Jin Shin – Liver Meridian

Let us continue to look at a series of easy self care, quick release techniques to help you feel better. The body can regenerate and restore when the energy is flowing. With Jin Shin, we work with the acupressure points on the body using light touch to release stress and tension.

Remember that you can work on yourself or use these points to work on a client. For Quantum Touch students/practitioners, holding these points while doing QT really pumps up the effectiveness. These are quick release points not full flows that a practitioner would likely use.

This month we are peeking into the Liver Meridian.

Do you notice any of these tendencies in yourself? Anger, irritability, excessive need to control, inability to focus and plan, excessive mentality, fatigue, jealousy, passive-aggressive tendencies, muscle, ligament and tendon problems, stiff neck, voice issues – can’t swallow, nails weak, acid reflex, herpes.

The general function is to bring mental clarity and the power to focus, plan and make decisions.

Quick Check & Self Help: Hold the neck off to one side just a bit at the base of the skull, and on the opposite side of the body the 14 (along the base of the rib cage below the sternum and off to the side a couple inches). Remember too to take nice full, deep breaths and hold a positive mindset.

Generally speaking, if you are not able to feel a pulse, it is likely that there is a blockage. If the pulses are erratic, there is a restriction or overflow involved. When there is free flow in the meridian, you will feel both points pulsing in harmony with one another.

  • Visualize the hands as jumper cables. Just apply – no strength is required. There is no need to rub or massage.
  • Relax. If you are unable to relax, just be as you are. Trying takes effort and can be counter productive
  • You may sit, stand or lie down – whatever is most comfortable for you
  • Simply apply your hands for a few minutes at a time until you can feel an even rhythmic pulsation
  • Jumper-cabling can be done at any time of day. It is the daily application that will accomplish results.

What is Jin Shin? Jin Shin is a Japanese healing art that dates back at lease 5,000 years. Virtually all traditional healing systems – from Ayurvedic to Greek and Chinese – are founded on the principle that in order to heal the body, the person must strengthen and balance the flow of life energy within.

Understanding Phase V of the EMF Balancing Technique

Phases I-IV were about creating a strong foundation to build upon. We are now moving into the set of phases (Phase V-VIII) which deal with stepping into your mastery on a day-to-day platform.

With these phases, you (the client) choose which attributes you want to work with. Phase V attributes include Courage, Openness, Sincerity, Honesty, Initiation, Transformation, Flexibility, Forgiveness, Humor, Creativity, Freedom, World. Would you like to have more of any of these attributes in your life right now?

Depending upon which attributes you choose the session will proceed accordingly. In Phase V the focus is transformation in the infinite energy of love. The fibers that are closer to your Core become activated, integrating and strengthening your energetic abilities.

The template that we activate includes the Heart Center, High Heart Center, the throat, all the small energy vortices around the mouth and the center on the tip of the nose.

EMF Balancing – Phase III – Core Energy

Being able to stand strong like a tree can be a real asset. Deeply rooted into the earth a tree can flex and bend with the currents of life and weather the storms. They give and they receive in a natural flow with all others they inhabit the earth with. They are fed not only by the earth, but by the sun and rain, essentially connected to all of life. Tap into your core strength and be that strong, stable presence that can sustain the craziness all around.

Let’s look at Phase III: Core Strength. With this Phase, or session, we balance the side fibers which have to do with those things you give and those things you receive in your life. We also make sure that your core energy is connected down into the earth energies and up into the higher energies so that there is a free flow. With the session you then learn to radiate your core energy out like a fluorescent beam which essentially enables you to hold your strength and peace no matter what is going on around you.  This blog post addresses how holding your core can not only help yourself but others too.

Common situations you may notice:

  • Always giving, giving, giving. Or always trying to get, get, get. Either one is unhealthy.
  • Difficulty in letting others help you, let alone ask for help
  • Feeling overwhelmed by all the responsibilities you feel you have to do
  • Power games and power trips
  • Feeling like a ‘space cadet’ – which you may or may not enjoy, but your feet aren’t on the ground

Using Breath Intentionally

Breathing. Have you thought about it lately? For most of us, we let our unconscious deal with it. And thankfully it works, but to what degree? Take a moment and pay attention to how you are breathing. Does your belly round out as you take an in-breath? Does your chest expand?

Typically we breath into our chest rather than our belly, resulting in a fraction of the oxygen getting into our blood system (less than 1/10 liter of blood flows through the top of the lungs-the chest breath, as opposed to over a liter through the bottom of the lungs-the belly breath) which causes the heart to work harder. I’m sure you see where this is heading. Enough said.

Chest-breathing is wired into the anxiety-producing mechanisms of the body, while belly-breathing is wired into the relaxation-producing mechanisms. Simply by breathing deeply, into your belly, you will notice changes in your physical, mental and emotional well-being.

When you need Relaxed Concentration

Two facts: It is not possible to feel anxious while breathing abdominally. If you tell the truth, your body relaxes slightly. So, take a big belly-breath and after the out-breath, say something true. Anything will do but it must be unarguable. “Today is Tuesday.” “I’m sitting in a chair.” Keep it simple. Just take a deep, relaxed, full breath, and tell the truth. This puts the body and mind into alignment, freeing your attention to focus on the task at hand.

When you need to Let it Go

Catch yourself as soon as possible after a negative experience, take 3 deep breaths, and change your body position (shake it off, stretch, jiggle-see what works for you). Part of the mechanism of a bad mood is shallow breathing and frozen body postures; don’t let the negativity settle down into your body. Breath and shake!

The human body is designed to discharge 70% of its toxins through breathing, so breathe deeply and let go of the garbage (physical and emotional!).

It is a time of change, a time of opportunity. It takes courage, strength, trust and certainly a good sense of humor. Do you want to continue on with what ‘has been’ or are you ready for something new? A new way to direct your life?

Perhaps you feel the squeeze? As Anais Nin said “There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

EMF Balancing Technique – Phase II – Wisdom of Your History

The ability to manage and work with your personal energy in a focused and clear manner is a skill that can be learned, practiced and improved upon. The new understandings about our brains being brought to light through brain science also offer new support for what we have been doing through our work with the Lattice.

This month we will expand on Phase II. In this session we continue the process of releasing those charges that we have been feeding unconsciously with our energy. We aren’t erasing anything, simply releasing the excess energy charge that we have been feeding. Basically we shift our history from an anchor that holds us back to a source of wisdom and support for who we are now.

Treading Lightly


Do you glide effortlessly through your day or trudge your way through it? Can how you walk and move your body really make a difference?

Try it yourself and see. Here’s how:

Trudging. Imagine heavy boots and with every step you land your feet with a loud thud. Your weight is all in your feet, you feel very heavy on the earth and they (your feet) alone carry you along this heavy path, as you trudge through your life. Walk around the room and try it. See how that feels in your body and your mind. I’ll wait. Can you feel the heaviness?

If you look around you will start to notice people that walk this way – shaking the earth with every step, they seem to represent the heaviness of the whole world – trudging along step by step, day by day, getting through life. Life is heavy and hard and very uncomfortable.

Now, move your awareness up to your thighs and focus your attention there.
